Intensive Care That Fits the Mission

A TRICARE IOP mental health program is a strategic "step-down" from inpatient care or a "step-up" when weekly therapy isn't producing results. We provide nine or more hours of weekly therapy, focusing on evidence-based protocols like Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). As an in-network provider for Humana Military (TRICARE East), we ensure your care is authorized and seamless.

Focused Clinical Volume

9+ hours of weekly engagement to address PTSD, severe depression, or acute anxiety, providing the "reps" needed for neurological change.

Readiness-Centered Groups

Peer-based therapy focused on the unique stressors of military life, including PCS transitions, deployments, and family integration.

Performance Architect Insight: The Neurological Load Phase

As a Sports Science Specialist (Unifesp), I view TRICARE IOP as a "Neurological Load Phase." Just as an athlete enters a high-volume training cycle to increase physical capacity, our IOP provides the clinical volume necessary to retrain your brain's stress-response system. We are essentially re-programming your Autonomic Nervous System to move out of chronic "Fight or Flight" and into a state of "High-Performance Calm."

TRICARE Authorizations & The Brandon Act

In 2026, the Brandon Act has improved the process for service members to seek mental health evaluations. If you or your dependent requires an IOP mental health level of care, we coordinate directly with TRICARE and your PCM to secure the necessary authorizations. This ensures you receive civilian-tier care while maintaining your military standing and readiness.

TRICARE IOP FAQ

Do I need a referral for IOP?
Active Duty Service Members (ADSM) require a referral from their PCM or Military Treatment Facility (MTF). TRICARE Select beneficiaries can often self-refer for outpatient services. We can help you check your specific status.

Is this program available after duty hours?
Yes. We offer flexible scheduling, including evening IOP blocks, to ensure you can meet your military or family obligations while receiving intensive support.

What is the out-of-pocket cost?
For ADSMs, the cost is typically $0. For family members and retirees, cost-shares are determined by your plan (Prime vs. Select). We provide a full transparency breakdown during intake.
